Co-authored Essay Anthology On the Line

A social-criticism anthology in which VAN’s standing research organisation records today’s contested issues in the language of its own generation.

VAN’s standing research organisation published On the Line, a collection of social-criticism essays carrying the uncomfortable but necessary questions young people put to Korean society today.

Rather than offering conclusions, contributors from different backgrounds re-examine society through their own experience. By connecting everyday concerns to social structures, the book casts young people as active speakers and critics rather than passive observers.

The anthology is organised in five parts on existence, competition, conflict, relationships and community, covering standards of success and happiness, the psychology of credentialism, university education in the age of AI, how the language of hatred distorts legal and political discourse, and the future of marriage as an institution.
