VAN is a federation of leading academic societies across Korean universities, founded on an alliance among Seoul National, Yonsei and Korea University. We are recruiting members who want to plan projects, work with outside institutions and turn their own ideas into results.

Applicants choose a bureau whose weekly in-person meeting they can attend. Venues and times may be adjusted.
Internal operating systems, AI-based workflow automation, organisation-wide project planning, and public grant proposals.

Sector networks across education, media, law, politics and finance; joint projects with outside organisations; partnership, sponsorship and business meetings.

On-site operation of major events, planning and running in-house and partner projects, member exchange programmes, participant and logistics management.

Interview and promotional video content, external networking channels, on- and offline marketing strategy, card news, posters and video production.

Two to three open seminars per semester, eight or more research and policy projects, policy reports and research outputs, competitions and academic conferences.

What You Will Work On
Members plan and document projects like the ones below. All of them are work VAN has actually carried out.
A policy-and-technology project using generative AI and cloud infrastructure to make legislative information more accessible and expand civic participation.
A joint academic exchange where social-science societies from Seoul National, Yonsei and Korea University presented research and held floor discussions.
An academic conference of more than 100 participants featuring presentations and debate on international politics and social issues.
The Structure
A representative council and operating staff work alongside an Advisory Council of professional advisers and faculty advisers. Because the structure runs independently of student-government terms, one semester’s work becomes the next semester’s foundation.
Academic exchange continues through the year rather than following election cycles.
Faculty advisers and professional advisers are built into research and projects.
Work is documented in the archive so the next cohort can build on it.
