The Africa EdTech Committee, under the External Strategy Bureau, is developing JENGA, an education platform addressing educational gaps and learning opportunity in Africa. JENGA means to build in Swahili, carrying the vision of creating opportunity block by block.
JENGA first researches local education environments and learner problems through interviews, then designs the content and learning methods required and implements them as a digital platform. Pilots with real learners follow in cooperation with local institutions, alongside in-person and remote mentoring with education volunteer groups in several countries.
Despite being at an early stage, the project already involves proven specialists: a developer who placed ninth in a global hacking competition, senior instructors and admissions consultants for content, and cooperation with figures holding broad networks in Rwanda.
